OPEN CALL

VITRINE WINDOW SPACE

Deadline: December 2nd, 2024

GALLERY TPW welcomes artists to submit artwork to be presented in our VITRINE WINDOW SPACE supported by TD Ready Commitment. Gallery TPW is a non-profit artist-run centre dedicated to exhibiting experimental artistic and curatorial practices that push the boundaries of lens-based media, creating a forum for critical dialogue and community engagement. Selected artists will be provided with an artist fee of $750.00 and $500 for production materials to produce a new work or present pre-existing projects. Artists will have the opportunity to work closely with Gallery TPW's Curator from conception to presentation, providing invaluable curatorial and professional support throughout. Because this opportunity encourages experimentation and expansion of practice, Gallery TPW will also work with each artist to pair them with a dedicated industry mentor who will guide them in their material or technical support of their artistic development. The final works will be debuted in Gallery TPW in a public-facing window vitrine accessible to the public 365 days a year. The work will be launched with a public opening event and shared online on our website and through social media. The TPW window vitrine provides an opportunity for experimentation and creative challenge that lends itself to experimental works as well as more traditional lens-based art forms as well.

Submissions must present options that are site-specific and take into account the physical vitrine window space (see below for specs). The space has limited ability to mount works to wall surfaces. Free-standing sculpture, media works and/or vinyl projects are encouraged. Two selected proposals will be selected via a jury and exhibited during the 2025 programming year. We pay artist fees according to CARFAC standards.
