Jaz-FairyJ (formerly known as Jasmyn Fyffe) has been practicing her art as a Performing Artist, Choreographer and Arts Educator for 12 years. Most recent commissions include: Soul Pepper Theatre, Toronto Dance Theatre, Cahoot's Theatre, the School of Toronto Dance Theatre and the Etobicoke School of the Arts. She is thrilled to be a part of this stellar cast of Treemonisha presented by Volcano Theatre and Moveable Beast this spring 2020. Other recent contracts include: Kemi Dance Projects, Ame Henderson, Robert Kingsbury and the Spice Girls Tribute band "Wannabe." As a solo artist, Fyffe has performed at: Summerworks Performance Festival, Dance Made in Canada Festival, Pulse Dance Conference, Older and Reckless, New Moves Contemporary Dance Festival (Pittsburgh), Lake Studios Berlin, Animating Spaces (Kaeja d’Dance) and Fresh Blood. New solo work set to premiere in Sept 2020 in Toronto and she was featured on CBC’s “HERstory in Black” honoring 150 Black Canadian women making a significant contribution to Canada” (2017).
