Workshop with Bishara Elmi
Saturday, September 21st, 2019—12:15pm
What does it mean to be cared for? What does it mean to attune your care to someone specifically? How does location and different types of relationality affect public intimacy between Black people?
In this workshop we will explore intimacy, and care through a series of relational exercises and looking at work that explores Black love. We will focus specifically on the practices of seeing as an extension of care and intimacy. The gaze is something we think about and theorize a lot, but what does it mean to look?
And perhaps to see?
And what does it mean to be seen or witnessed?
Refreshments will be served.
This workshop is for Black attendees only.
Space is limited and registration is required. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up for this workshop.
